LONDON, Oct 30: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNAs) to help bring foreign direct investment in Nepal.
Addressing a brief function organized by NRNA-UK Chapter at Nepal Embassy in London on Saturday, Prime Minister Deuba said that Nepal had already introduced various policy measures to make the country investment-friendly. "I am ready to provide other facilities if you want any," he said, while asking non-resident Nepalis to bring in foreign direct investment to help develop Nepal.

Prime Minister Deuba said that Nepal had already resumed on-arrival visa facility and that there is no hassle to get a visa to travel to Nepal. He, however, said that it is not immediately possible to provide the kind of citizenship that non-resident Nepalis have demanded as this requires amendment in the constitution itself.
Prime Minister Deuba also announced that he would also work towards resolving the issues of former British Gurkha veterans during his tenure as the prime minister.
Prior to this, the NRNA-UK chapter had submitted a memorandum to the prime minister. They have demanded continuation of Nepali citizenship, direct flight between Nepal and the UK, an investment-friendly environment and facilitate non-resident Nepalis to deposit their money in Nepali banking institutions and take their money back to their country of residence.
General Secretary Dr Hem Raj Sharma and other officials of NRNA, UK chapter were present on the occasion.
