KATHMANDU, April 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed concern over delay in construction works along the Koteshwor-Satdobato-Kalanki road section.


Prime Minister Dahal's concerns came after the government and concerned agencies received numbers of public complaints, saying they are bearing the brunt of the worst condition of the roads .


There were complaints galore from locals that the traffic congestion has affected the movement of vehicles, normal life of the locals has been affected due to dust and pollution and the contractors did not pay attention in expediting the road expansion drive.

Making the onsite visit of the road section today, the Prime Minister directed the bodies concerned to speed up the construction works, said PM's Press Advisor, Govinda Acharya.

In today's meeting of the Good Governance Committee under the Legislature-Parliament,


PM's attention was drawn towards the problems and difficulties facing by the people and vehicles in their movement and dilapidated condition of roads of the capital city.

The drive is on to expand the road section to eight lanes with the assistance of the Chinese government.


The Prime Minister expressed concern over the poor state of the roads and the vehicles and construction materials rampantly kept on the road.


Citizens have been bearing the brunt of hours long traffic congestion on the road. RSS
