KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting of the Council of Ministers this evening.
The meeting is taking place at 5PM at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar.
Prime Minister Oli calls a cabinet meeting at 4 pm today
This is the first time PM Oli is convening a cabinet meeting after the Supreme Court overturned the government's decision to dissolve the House of Representatives on Tuesday this week. The apex court also ordered the government to summon a meeting of parliament by March 8.
Today's cabinet meeting is likely to recommend to President Bidya Devi Bhandari to summon a meeting of the House of Representatives, the lower house of parliament, according to a cabinet minister.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Oli held a meeting with President Bhandari at the latter's official residence, Sheetal Niwas. It was the first time PM Oli met President Bhandari after the restoration of parliament.
Oli is under immense pressure to step down from the post after the apex court ruled against the government's move to dissolve parliament.
