KATHMANDU, May 9: A day before the lawmakers of the lower house of parliament are scheduled to vote on the house’s trust on Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, the latter has urged the lawmakers representing the party not to take any ‘undesirable’ step such as resigning en masse .

Issuing a statement on Sunday, PM Oli said that ‘harmful’ attempts of crossing the floor in parliament, registering a vote of no-confidence and resigning en masse by the lawmakers of the ruling party are not appropriate at any cost.

Oli’s statement comes at a time when the lawmakers close to the party’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are reportedly preparing to resign en masse in an apparent bid to foil Oli’s attempt to secure a vote of confidence in parliament on Monday

PM Oli urged the parliamentarians of his party not to take such an ‘undesirable’ move. “Wil history forgive those who commit such acts? Think, what will we tell the people.”

He also assured the lawmakers that nobody will be discriminated against and urged them to strengthen the party.
