PM warns Education Minister of dismissal

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has warned Gopalman Shrestha, Minister of Education that if Dr. Govinda KC's demands were not met and he was forced to resort to another hunger strike, Shrestha would be sacked from his position.

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has warned Gopalman Shrestha, Minister of Education that if Dr. Govinda KC's demands were not met and he was forced to resort to another hunger strike, Shrestha would be sacked from his position. 


Deuba warned Shrestha after his attention was drawn to Dr. KC's demands at Baluwatar yesterday evening.A meeting between delegates of Dr. KC and Deuba highlighted concerns over Kathmandu National Medical College and its license.

Dr. KC informed the Prime MInister that if the Ministry of Education was to forcefully legitimize the relationships between colleges, he'd start his hunger strike once again. Deuba, then, had immediately called the Education Minister and warned of consequences.


Citing upcoming elections, Deuba urged Dr. KC not to start hunger strike, to which Dr. KC has agreed.
