Pokhara Regional Int’l Airport receives its first international commercial flight

POKHARA, Sept 9: The Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) welcomed its first international commercial flight after it came into commercial operation some eight months ago.


On Saturday morning, Drukair, the national flag carrier of Bhutan, touched down in Pokhara to take passengers to Paro, marking a momentous occasion in the airport's history. The aircraft, which arrived in the morning to transport chartered passengers, departed for Paro after an hour.

Jashoda Subedi, the spokesperson at the Pokhara Regional International Airport, said that a total of 42 foreign passengers departed for Paro, while three passengers arrived in Pokhara from Paro. This historic event marks the inauguration of commercial international flights at the airport, signaling a new era of connectivity for the region.
