Newly-inaugurated Pokhra Regional Int'l Airport receives first int'l flight from China (In Photos)

KATHMANDU, June 21: Six months after the airport came into operation, the first international flight landed at Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) in Kaski today. A narrow body A319 of Sichuan Airlines from Chhendu, China landed at PRIA at 9:06 am.

KATHMANDU, June 21: Six months after the airport came into operation, the first international flight landed at Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) in Kaski today. A narrow body A319 of Sichuan Airlines from Chhendu, China landed at PRIA at 9:06 am. 


The Nepali delegation including athletes who are participating in the Nepal-China Dragon Boat Race Festival and Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, who returned from a visit to China, were also on the chartered flight.

The festival will be held on June 23-24 23-24 at Fewa Lake in Pokhara. The festival has been organized by Nepal Tourism Board, Chinese Embassy in Nepal and Pokhara Metropolitan City. Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) have also supported the festival, which is co-organised by Pokhara Tourism Council and Nepal China Overseas Association.


This aircraft will stay at PRIA for about two hours and return to China via Kathmandu at 11 am.
