Pokhara Rhinos signs Scottish Munsey for EPL

KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Pokhara Rhinos has signed Scotland’s George Munsey for the upcoming fourth edition of the Everest Premier League (EPL) Twenty20 cricket tournament.

KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Pokhara Rhinos has signed Scotland’s George Munsey for the upcoming fourth edition of the Everest Premier League (EPL) Twenty20 cricket tournament. 


Rhinos, issuing a press statement on Thursday, announced the signing of Munsey making him their third international signing this season.

Earlier, the franchise team bought Anglo-Caribbean country’s Kesrick Williams and West Indies’ Chris Gayle. 


A total of six city-based franchise teams will take part in the tournament, which will be held at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur from March 14-28. 


Left-handed batsman, Munsey’s unbeaten century off 25 balls against the Netherlands awarded him with the 2019 ESPN Batting Performance of the Year. He has also set his name to hit six sixes in a single over. 


Munsey said he is excited with the opportunity. 


“I am excited to play the EPL,” Munsey added, “I will play in the tournament for Pokhara Rhinos and it has filled me with joy to play in front of the Nepali crowd.”
