Pokhara: Unified Socialist’s Acharya leading with 9,395 votes in mayoral race (Update)

KATHMANDU, May 17: CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Dhanraj Acharya is leading the mayoral race in Pokhara Metropolitan City. So far, Acharya has received 9,395 votes while his closest rival Krishna Bahadur Thapa from the CPN-UML has received 8,040 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 17: CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Dhanraj Acharya is leading the mayoral race in Pokhara Metropolitan City. So far, Acharya has received 9,395 votes while his closest rival Krishna Bahadur Thapa from the CPN-UML has received 8,040 votes. 


Similarly, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate for the same post, Shankar Khanal has received 1,117 votes while independent candidate Khadkaraj Poudel has received 603 votes so far.

Meanwhile, Nepali Congress candidate Kopila Ranabhat is leading the race for the post of deputy mayor. Ranabhat is leading the polls by 563 votes against her closest rival Manjudevi Gurung of CPN-UML. Ranabhat has received 9,667 votes while Gurung has received 9,102 votes. Likewise, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate Ranjana Sen has received 933 votes so far. 


A total of 22,562 votes have been counted so far.
