GORKHA, May 7: The police on Saturday night have arrested one person allegedly involved in attacking Naya Shakti cadres and vandalizing jeep and motor bike being used by them in Gorkha district.
The arrestee has been identified as Sudip Basnet of Gorkha municipality who is cadre of CPN(Maoist Center).

The police are also searching for other suspects, DSP Birendra Thapa told Republica Online.
Some cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) had attacked Naya Shakti cadres few days ago. Four Naya Shakti cadres sustained injuries in the attack.
It has been learned that their condition is normal. District Coordinator of Naya Shakti Party, Nepal(NSPN) Ramesh Pokharel had warned that further violence would erupt if the administration did not bring the malefactors under justice.
A meeting was also held to discuss the incident among concerned stakeholders in the district. At the meeting, Chief District Officer of Gorkha District Jitendra Basnet had called on all the parties to abide by the election code of conduct.
