KHOTANG, July 30: A seventeen-year-old individual from Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-3 has been arrested on charge of raping a 10-year girl in Khotang. Sonam Rai was taken into custody on Sunday after a complaint was filed against him for raping the girl.
Police get beaten while trying to arrest rape-accused
According to Manoj Thapa, sub inspector at the District Police Office, a rape case was filed against Rai on Saturday. The locals said Rai had raped the girl after finding out that she was alone at her home.
After being raped, she was sent to Diktel District Hospital for treatment where she is experiencing continuous bleeding and pain. Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Kishor Pradhan said that Rai has also been accused of possessing arms and ammunition after a weapon was found in his pillow.
