Police arrest two fraudsters for swindling out of nearly three million rupees from job aspirants

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Police have arrested two fraudsters for allegedly swindling nine youths out of nearly three million rupees and showing false hope of finding them attractive jobs in a European country.

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Police have arrested two fraudsters for allegedly swindling nine youths out of nearly three million rupees and showing false hope of finding them attractive jobs in a European country.


A team of police personnel from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested Mohammad Sahjad Alam, 25, of Saptari and Sukaman Waiba, 43, of Sindhuli district on the charge of swindling out of Rs 2.7 million from nine youths in the name of securing them attractive jobs in Croatia. The fraudsters were arrested from Baneshwor and Kapan area on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, the arrested persons had taken Rs 307,000 each from the victims. “The fraudsters had also shown fake visas to the victims apparently to convince them securing lucrative jobs in the European country,” said police.


The arrested have been kept in custody at the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, for further investigation into the case.
