KATHMANDU, Sep 7: A police constable at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a girl in the Pashupatination area on Sunday.
“Constable Upendra Singh has been arrested following a complaint by the alleged victim. The victim complained to the police that Constable Singh attempted to rape her in a hut in the Bankali area on Sunday evening,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Basnet, told Republica.

The arrestee has been kept in custody at the Circle, and further investigation into the case is being carried out by the police.
“The alleged victim is a 21-year-old girl. She is a resident of Bhaktapur district,” DSP Basnet, told Republica.
According to him, the police are preparing to present the accused constable before the court.
