Police rescue youth, arrest kidnappers

BIRATNAGAR, July 3: Police have set free an abducted youth and arrested two kidnappers.


According to the District Police Office, Morang, Yash Kumar Lamjel, 19, of Chhintang-8 of Dhankuta, currently living in Dharan-9 of Sunsari district, was rescued on July 1.

A 10 member gang had kidnapped Lamjel on June 28 from a bus park at Birtangar-5 and hid him in a house of Ananda Yadav at Budhanagar-6, Morang.


The kidnappers had asked for Rs 500,000 as ransom from the victim side, it is learnt.  Police rescued Lamjel from Budhanagar while they were taking Lamjel to India on a motorcycle (BR 38 C 7269).


While setting Lamjel free from the gang, two abductors Ananda Yadav and Sanpat Yadav were held by the police. Even a motorcycle was impounded. RSS
