Police seize explosive substances from Surkhet

DAILEKH, Nov 11: Surkhet Police have seized huge amount of explosive substances suspected to spoil upcoming elections. The police seized detonators, gelatin, fuse wire, mobile phones, Nepali and Indian SIM cards from Panchapuri-11 of Surkhet.

DAILEKH, Nov 11: Surkhet Police have seized huge amount of explosive substances suspected to spoil upcoming elections. The police seized detonators, gelatin, fuse wire, mobile phones, Nepali and Indian SIM cards from Panchapuri-11 of Surkhet.


Through special informant, explosive substances were seized from a jeep, Dha 1 Cha 106 on Friday night, District’s Superintendent of Police, Mohan Acharya. Police seized 60 detonators, 760 gelatin and 11 meters of wire. The materials are used to make pressure cooker bombs, Sutli bomb. While the driver has been arrested, the police are investigating those involved, Acharya said.

Few days earlier, Area Police Office, Chinchule had arrested former Maoist combatant, Dal Bahadur Kami of Jajarkot with 5 detonators. The police has stepped up monitoring and vehicle check up .
