According to police, the voting was postponed after a loud explosion was heard inside the center while the voters were in the queue to cast their votes. There was a stampede among the panicked voters following the explosion.

Chief District Officer of Morang Kashi Raj Dahal said that the voting process was postponed after the panicked voters ran away from the polling station after the explosion. “Initially, there were rumors of a bomb blast.  But it turned out later that some firecrackers were lit inside the polling station," CDO Dahal said. "The voting has been postponed for a while after a stampede among panicked voters. Preparations are being made to resume the voting again.''
