Strong tremors of the earthquake measuring 6 Richter Scale were felt at 5:19 am. According to the National Seismological Center, the earthquake had its epicenter in Ramche area of Sindhupalchowk district.
The tremors were felt in most parts of eastern and central Nepal as well. No casualties have been reported yet, police said. Most people in Kathmandu had walked out of their home as they felt the tremor.
