KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai-led group has decided to withdraw from their planned protests in Tinkune and Maitighar after facing opposition from local authorities and security agencies. In response to the denial of permission for the protest in those areas, the Prasai group has agreed to relocate their demonstration to Sifal Ground in Kathmandu.
According to Rajananda Mandabya, Co-Spokesperson of the Prasai-led ‘Save Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Campaign,’ the District Administration Office in Kathmandu has granted approval for the program at Sifal Ground. Mandabya stated, "We have complied with the agreement with the local administration. Since consent was not given for Tinkune and Maitighar, and the potential for violence was anticipated if we proceeded forcefully, we had to reconsider our plans."

Mandabya emphasized the group's commitment to a non-violent movement, stating, "We do not want a violent protest, and we have conveyed this to the state. We urge all Nepali citizens supporting our cause to participate with restraint."
Swayam Prasai also mentioned that the program originally scheduled for Tinkune will now be held at Sifal Ground due to special technical reasons. In a Facebook post earlier in the day, Prasai urged citizens to attend the event at Sifal Ground, emphasizing the change in venue.
The Prasai-led group initiated a movement in the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday, with the first day's program in Balkhu being notably tense. The second day's plan to convene their protest in Tinkune faced opposition from local authorities and security agencies due to perceived security risks, leading to the decision to relocate to Sifal Ground.
