President Bhandari is scheduled to return home later today after paying a two-day state visit to Bangladesh.
KATHMANDU, March 23: President Bidya Devi Bhandari held talks with her Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammad Abdul Hamid on Monday night following her arrival in Bangladesh in a two-day state visit.
Bhandari and Hamid were accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Foreign Affairs Minister of Bangladesh, AK Abdul, Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh, Dr Bansidhar Mishra and other high-ranking officials from both the countries.
Bangladesh President holds meeting with counterpart Bhandari
After the meeting, President Bhandari attended the State Banquet hosted by her Bangladeshi counterpart in her honor.
Likewise, delegates from Nepal and Bangladesh signed four bilateral instruments namely Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism cooperation, Memorandum of Understanding on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Cooperation, Cultural Exchange Program and Letter of Exchange to designate Rohanpur-Singhabad railway route as an additional transit route in the presence of President of Nepal and of Bangladesh at Bangabhaban following the meeting.
President Bhandari is paying a two-day state visit to Bangladesh and is scheduled to return to Kathmandu today.
