KATHMANDU, March 8: People from various walks of life have vented their ire on social networking sites over President Bidya Devi Bhandari's recent trip to Pokhara, where she had inaugurated an elevator installed at the Bindhyabasini temple amidst a program.
Twitter and Facebook users have passed their comments arguing that the president should have avoided such insignificant events.

Former foreign secretary Madhuraman Acharya tweeted that the integrity of the presidential position was undermined.
Perhaps some VIPs are more equal than others. Some want roads to be cleared for hassle-free riding. Some want airfield to be cleared for hassle-free landing. Some want hassle-free wages and perks. Meanwhile, the people have to endure hassle in pretty much everything.

Twitteraties have criticized also the organizers for inviting the president in such a low-profile event dubbing it as ridiculous. "The ward chairperson would be enough to inaugurate such small and petty events," some of them argued.
