KATHMANDU, Sept 15: President Ram Chandra Paudel has presented this year's 'Women in Medicine in Nepal 2023' awards to five doctors.
President Paudel conferred the awards on Dr Archana Amatya, Dr Gita Shakya, Dr Mita Singh, Dr Kokila Baidhya and Dr Pramila Pradhan amid a programme organized at the Office of the President of Nepal, Sheetal Niwas on Friday. They were honored for their exemplary contribution to the field of medical sector.

Similarly, Dr Dibyashwori Shrestha, Dr Lata Bajracharya, Dr Shova Aryal, Dr Kasturi Malla and Dr Gita Karki Rana have been honored with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. President Paudel draped shawls and presented the letter of appreciation to them.
Addressing the function, Health Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet said the government is always effortful to implement basic services like health and education as guaranteed by the constitution as fundamental rights of citizens.
Saying that it requires substantial quotas in the health sector to further make healthcare service effective, Basnet stressed the need for timely management of required human resources in the health sector in the country.
