President to address joint session of Federal Parliament on Feb 10

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: President Bidya Devi Bhandari will be addressing a joint session of the Federal Parliament on coming Friday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: President Bidya Devi Bhandari will be addressing a joint session of the Federal Parliament on coming Friday.


According to Spokesperson for the Office of President, Sagar Acharya, the President will, in accordance with Article 95 of the Constitution, be addressing a joint sitting of the both Houses of Parliament on February 10.

Article 95 which is about Address by President states, “President may address either House or a joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament, and s/he may summon the members for that purpose. The President shall address the first session after an election to the House of Representatives and a joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament after the commencement of the first session of each year.”


The first session of the HoR formed following the November 20 elections to the HoR and Province Assembly is underway.
