Presidential election to be held on March 9

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The Election Commission has fixed the date for the election of the President and Vice President. The Commission has set the date for the election of the President to be held on Thursday 9th of March and the election of the Vice President to be held on Friday 17th of March.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that based on the decision, the Commission will announce the election program today.


The Commission will send a written message to the Council of Ministers through the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal. The current President Bidya Devi Bhandari's tenure is ending on March 12.
