Prez Bhandari breaks her silence on Nirmala's rape

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has finally broken her silence on the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta, 13 of Kanchanpur district.

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has finally broken her silence on the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta, 13 of Kanchanpur district.


Bhandari said that she was extremely worried by the incident by the heinous crime and urged all state agencies to nab the murderer and provide justice to the victim's family. She also extended her condolences to the the parents of Nirmala.

Bhandari said so while addressing a program to celebrate the National Children's Day. "It is saddening to see the victim's family search for justice. I urge all bodies to provide justice to the victim's family by arresting the culprit."


She also highlighted the need to create child friendly society where the rights of children are safeguarded. In addition, Bhandari urged lawmakers to formulate laws that will help to control violence's and crimes against children.


"To do so, I urge police administration, investigation committees and societies to work together," she said.
