KATHMANDU, Dec 19: On the occasion of one of the great festivals of the Kirant community, Udhauli, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has expressed her best wishes for happiness, peace, good health and longevity to all Nepali people living at home and abroad.


“This festival of nature and worshiping ancestors of the Kirant community, accustomed to harmonizing their way of life with the natural cycle of the seasons, has enriched our original cultural tradition. It seems to me that this festive occasion has highlighted the interdependent relationship between human life and nature and conveyed the message that conservation of nature and environment is indispensable for the continuity of human existence,” the message said.

Similarly, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed confidence that the great festival of Kirat community, Udhauli, would help in promoting mutual harmony and brotherhood by uniting all religions, castes and languages ​​of Nepal.


The prime minister also wished the Kiranti brothers and sisters at home and abroad peace, prosperity and good health while pointing out that it was the responsibility of all to institutionalize the unity and social harmony brought about by such festivals.
