Neupane, a resident of Bardibas-1, was injured in police firing on Tuesday. He breathed his last in the course of treatment at Grande Hospital in Kathmandu.

Following the “rape” and murder of a six-year-old Gulbasha (Gulab Sah) Khatun, agitated locals had protested in Bardibas demanding strict action against the culprit. Police had fired rubber bullets to disperse the crowd that obstructed a section of the East-West Highway in Bardibas.

On Monday, the dead body of Khatun was found packed in a sack in Bardibas near the house of the missing minor.  She had gone missing from the neighborhood of her house on Sunday evening.

Police have already arrested 26-year-old Arun Kumar Sah of Gaushala Municipality-5 on the charge of murdering the girl. After the situation in Bardibas went out of control, the local administration had also imposed curfew till Thursday.
