Protest demanding immediate amendment to Transitional Justice Law Amendment Bill (Photo Feature)

KATHMANDU, July 31: Nepal Maoist Victims Association, conflict victim community and civil society staged a protest demanding an immediate amendment to the Bill for the Amendment of the Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2014 that the Government of Nepal registered in parliament on 15 July 2022, at Maitighar Mandala on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, July 31: Nepal Maoist Victims Association, conflict victim community and civil society staged a protest demanding an immediate amendment to the Bill for the Amendment of the Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2014 that the Government of Nepal registered in parliament on 15 July 2022, at Maitighar Mandala on Sunday.

According to them, though the amendment Bill contains positive provisions including reparations, there are also many provisions that violate the victims’ right to an effective remedy.
