BIRATNAGAR, Dec 3: The district hospitals in Province No 1 have begun tests for cervical cancer screening for free.
The service was started from Dhankuta District Hospital, Chief of Province Public Health Laboratory Dr Jayebendra Yadav said.
He shared that samples of seven women were collected on the first day and the test for cervical cancer would be conducted through LBC technology.

Social Development Minister of Province No 1 Jeevan Ghimire marked the beginning of the free cervical cancer test service on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Ghimire said that people's lifestyle was to blame for the increased number of cancer patients.
He also announced to conduct different programmes for the cancer reduction in the province.
Minister Ghimire further said that the Province Government was planning to upgrade the Dhankuta District Hospital into a teaching hospital.
He shared that the Dhankuta District Hospital would be upgraded to a 100-bed hospital within this fiscal year.
