Province to provide Rs 50,000 to family of each tipper accident dead

POKHARA, July 12: Gandaki province has announced to provide a relief of Rs 50,000 to the family members of each passenger killed in Friday’s tragic tipper accident in upper Mustang.

POKHARA, July 12: Gandaki province has announced to provide a relief of Rs 50,000 to the family members of each passenger killed in Friday’s tragic tipper accident in upper Mustang.

 The meeting of the provincial cabinet on Wednesday made the decision. A total of 19 construction workers and a driver had lost their lives in the accident. Spokesperson of the province, Ramsharan Basnet said, “We expressed our condolences to the victim families and decided to provide Rs 50,000 to the family of the deceased and Rs 25,000 to the injured.  “We will be providing the money from the province’s emergency fund,” Basnet added.


The tipper carrying workers deployed in the construction work of Jomsom-Korola road had skidded off the road 

and plunged down to a ravine at Syangboche after losing balance. Nine workers from Rolpa, 

six from Dang, one each from Dhading, Syangja, Okhaldhunga and Kapilvastu were killed in the accident.
