KATHMANDU, July 19: As per the government’s decision, public transport entrepreneurs are all set to resume their services from Monday, following all health safety guidelines issued by the government amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
During a meeting at the Department of Transport Management, Gogan Bahadur Hamal, the director general of the department said that the public vehicles will resume their services from tomorrow.
“According to the government decision and discussion within the representatives of public transport operators, we have decided to resume the service,” he added. “There will be strict implementation of health safety guidelines issued by the government to control the spread of coronavirus.”

Earlier on July 10, the government of Nepal decided to let public vehicles operate within a district. However, in the Kathmandu Valley, the vehicles will be allowed to hit roads within Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kathmandu districts.
Likewise, some transport companies like Shaja Yatayat, Mayur Yatayat, Sundar Yatayat and Samyukta Yatayat have already resumed their services in the Kathmandu Valley.
The government and entrepreneurs are also planning to resume long-distance public transport at the earliest.
