KATHMANDU, March 20: The Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rainfall in various parts of Nepal starting today.
Currently, Nepal is experiencing the influence of a westerly low-pressure system combined with local winds.
Rainfall likely to continue across the country today
According to the MFD, it is currently partly to mostly cloudy across the country with light rain with thunder/lightning in a few places of Koshi and Madhesh provinces and sporadic to light snowfall in one or two places in the highlands and mountainous areas of Koshi province.
According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD earlier at 6 am, the weather will remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
However, the MFD warns of the possibility of scattered to light rain with thunder and lightning in select areas of the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, along with light snowfall in one or two places in high altitude regions of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The weather will remain mostly clear in hilly areas of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, while the remaining areas will be mostly clear tonight.
Scattered to light rain with thunder/lightning is likely at a few places in hilly areas of the country including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
