KATHMANDU, May 2: There is an influence of the local air, a low-pressure system prevailing from Uttar Pradesh to West Bengal of India and the westerly wind in Nepal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
The weather is partly to generally cloudy across the nation. One or two places of the hill areas of Province 1, Madhesh Province and Bagmati Province as well as other provinces have been witnessing light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning.
The sky over the Kathmandu Valley has been cloudy from the morning and drizzles have been reported at some places.

The weather of Province 1, Madhes Province, Bagmati Province and Lumbini Province will remain generally cloudy while the sky over Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province will remain partly cloudy in the afternoon.
It’s been raining in some places of Province 1, Madhesh Province and Gandaki Province while light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning has been reported at a few places of Bagmati and Karnali provinces, according to the Division.
Partly cloudy weather has been predicted in the hill areas of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces during the night.
There is a possibility of rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning at a few places in the hill areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and one or two places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Today's maximum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 15.5 degrees Celsius. According to the Division, the Kathmandu Valley recorded five millimeters of rainfall while Dharan recorded the highest 15 millimeters of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
