KATHMANDU, March 14: The Rana siblings Mayanka and Mahika have set the summit clash of the women’s singles in the ongoing 10th Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Tournament on Tuesday. In the match played at the Armed Police Force (APF) headquarters in Halchowk, Mayanka beat Ira Rawat 7-5, 6-4, while Mahika defeated Ganga Sharma in straight sets of 6-0, 6-2. Likewise, in pre-quarterfinal matches of the men’s singles, Pranav Khanal saw off Man Bahadur Katwal on straight sets of 6-1, 6-1, while Pradeep Khadka advanced into the next round on walk over as Bikash Khadka sustained injury after losing the first set 7-6. In other matches of the same category, Jitendra Pariyar struggled to beat Kamal Bhandari 1-6, 6-1, 7-5, while Santosh Khatri overcame Anil Shahi 6-3, 6-0. All the winners reached the quarterfinals.
