KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya on Sunday admitted that the reconstruction of cultural heritage sites including Rani Pokhari has not gained momentum due to various reasons.

Addressing a program organized to mark the 25th Metropolitan Day, Shakya said that the rebuilding of earthquake-hit heritage sites has been delayed due to the unwarranted interference of the Department of Archeology. "The reconstruction of Rani Pokhari and Kasthamandap has been delayed by one year due to series of controversies," he said. However, he has been able to deliver on his election promises, he claimed.
