KATHMANDU, July 4: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya has inaugurated the reconstruction work of earthquake-ravaged Kamal Pokhari on Thursday.
Speaking at a program in the capital, Mayor Shakya said that Kamal Pokhari will be rebuilt and opened for tourists in the days to come. "Kathmandu Metropolitan City will provide all support for rebuilding Kamal Pokhari," he said.
Ranipokhari's reconstruction begins after almost four years
Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa has urged locals to complete the reconstruction process on time to enhance its importance. He also warned of taking action against the construction company if the work is not completed in time.
With the help of Kathmandu Metropolitan city and locals support, reconstruction work of Pokhari is expected to be completed within one year.
