Reconstruction taking speed with elected representatives

KATHMANDU, July 2: The election of people's representatives at the local level has speed up the signing of grant assistance with the quake survivors, as well as the distribution of the grant installments.

KATHMANDU, July 2: The election of people's representatives at the local level has speed up the signing of grant assistance with the quake survivors, as well as the distribution of the grant installments.

 

With people's representatives assuming office in province no. 3, 4 and 6, the post-quake reconstruction work has accelerated, according to the central project implementation unit of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development. 



The number of beneficiaries receiving the first grant increased by 21,223 since the elected representatives assumed their official duties.



Likewise, those receiving the second installment increased by 22,110 and those received the third installment by 904, said engineer at the Unit Birendra Kandel. Election for the local level units has also taken place in province no. 1, 5 and 7 on June 28 and new representatives coming through the election is expected to further boost the post-quake reconstruction.
