Relief worth Rs 225,000 distributed to flood and landslide victims of Gyalthum

KATHMANDU, July 21: A group of individuals under the leadership of banker Saswat Karki has distributed relief materials worth Rs 225,000 to the flood and landslide victims of Gyalthum in Helambu Rural Municipality-1.

KATHMANDU, July 21: A group of individuals under the leadership of banker Saswat Karki has distributed relief materials worth Rs 225,000 to the flood and landslide victims of Gyalthum in Helambu Rural Municipality-1.


The relief was distributed to 10 families in collaboration with RSTCA Foundation and non-resident Nepalis (NRN) in Europe.

Food items, blankets, tents, and medicines were provided to the victim families in the presence of the representatives of NRNs along with a few volunteers.


Helambu Rural Municipality was recently hit by a devastating flood and landslides last month. Hundreds have been displaced, dozens have gone missing and many were killed in the natural calamities.


“I am thankful to all those individuals who supported me in collecting the amount. These are difficult times and youths like us should join hands to make this world a better place,” said Karki. Karki is a youth activist and a social worker.
