Republica daily newspaper's photojournalist, Keshab Raj Thoker won an award for his excellent visual story of a "Donut Palace Queen" recently. He won 'The spirit of the Workshop Award' among 40 participants from USA, Canada, UK, Mexico in 71 st Missouri Photo Workshop held at University of Missouri, USA.

The workshop took place from September 22 to September 28. During the workshop, the participants were mentored by Faculty of Photography from University of Missouri along with photojournalist from Washington Post. There were a total of seven awards where Thoker was the only one representing South Asia in the workshop.
‘The Spirit of the Workshop Award’ is given annually to a photographer who not only creates an exceptional body of work throughout the week, but also one who fully embraces the philosophy of MPW, seeking to not only improve their own skills but to help fellow participants as well. He adds, “The judges chose the winners on the basis of the participant’s hard work, the subject matter and creativity.”
Meanwhile, other awards and the winners are 'Howard Chapnick Award' to Nina Riggio, 'Team Chapnick' to Rosem Morton, 'Team Cliff & Vi' to Caroline Gutman, 'Team Cox' to Morgan Timms, 'Team Eppridge' to Bear Goldstein and 'Team Lee' to Angela Douglas Ramsey.
