Rescued from a hotel’s room in Kathmandu with serious burn injuries, girl dies in ‘suspicious circumstances’

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: A girl who had gone to Hotel Crown Plaza in Naxal, Kathmandu, to stay there with her boyfriend, has died in suspicious circumstances.

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: A girl who had gone to Hotel Crown Plaza in Naxal, Kathmandu, to stay there with her boyfriend, has died in suspicious circumstances.


According to police, she was taken to Bir Hospital with serious burn injuries but was later referred to Kirtipur Hospital as her treatment was not possible there. She died in the course of treatment.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Raj Mainali said the police had arrested two people after the hospital said that the girl had died of burn injuries. According to the police, the girl, who used to live in Chabahil, had gone to the hotel to spend the night with Keshab Rizal of Simra, Bara.


Among those arrested are Rizal and an employee of the hotel. SP Mainali said that both the arrested have been remanded into custody for five days and the further investigation into the incident is underway.
