RJPN holding 'unification gathering' in capital

KATHMANDU, May 2: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN), a newly formed party comprising Madhes-based parties, is organizing a unification gathering in the Capital on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, May 2: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN), a newly formed party comprising Madhes-based parties, is organizing a unification gathering in the capital on Tuesday.


 The mass gathering is taking place at Kalikasthan-based Amritbhoj Party Palace.


“This is the first gathering of central committee (CC) members of the newly formed Rastriya  Janata Party Nepal.”  This is a get-together of the central committee members of the party,” Rajendra Mahato, a leader of the RJPN, told Republica Online.

Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Mahendra Raya Yadav,  Sarat Singh Bhandari, Raj Kishor Yadav among others are  participating in the gathering. 


Mahantha Thakur-led Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP), Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhavana Party (SP), Mahendra Raya Yadav-led Terai Madhes Sadbhavana Party, Sarat Singh Bhandari-led National Madhesh Socialist Party (NMSP) and Raj Kishore Yadav-led Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Republican (MPRF-R) had formed the RJPN on April 20 following a serious of discussions. 


According to a RJPN leader around 500 leaders and cadres are expected to turn up in the gathering.
