RASUWA, July 10: The roadway leading to the Rasuwagadi checkpoint has been blocked by debris due to continuous rainfall and landslides in the region. The road has been blocked by landslide debris in the Syafru-Rasuwagadhi road section. The debris on the road has closed off all the movement of vehicles along the roadway since early morning.
According to Devendra Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the district, the work to clear the debris on the road is currently underway. “We have decided to clear the road through a blasting method as the amount of debris on the road is very huge,” Pandey said. “The roadway will be cleared by the evening,” he added.

Landslides in the region are common in the monsoon season. It is not uncommon for roadways to be blocked by landslides. Meanwhile, the landslide debris on the Pasang Lhamu Road has been cleared. However, the road section of the Mailung-Syafru roadway remains blocked by landslide debris since June 15.
