KATHMANDU, March 19: With the start of the spring climbing season, the government has started issuing permits for expedition teams to reach the summit of various mountains and peaks in the country. Similarly, an eight-member team of experienced Sherpa from Seven Summit Treks Pvt Ltd under the direction of Expedition Operator Association of Nepal (EOA) will be fixing the routes to the summit of Mt Sagarmatha and Mt Lhotse.
Renowned mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa will be leading the fixing team with an aim to break his own record for the most ascents (25times) of climbing Sagarmatha. The route from base camp to Camp II will be fixed by the icefall doctors deployed by Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC).

The team from Seven summit will then fix ropes from Camp II to the summit of Sagarmatha and Lhotse. The team has a plan to fix the summit rope by the 1st week of May over both peaks. The team comprises Kami Rita Sherpa including Sona Sherpa, Ngima Tashi Sherpa, Tenzing Gyaljen Sherpa, Fura Tshering Sherpa, Phurba Chhotar Sherpa, Phurba Kusang Sherpa, and Lakpa Tenzing Sherpa
Rope Fixing above 8000m is multi-days of work and a challenging task – which then assists permitted individuals, climbers, small and big teams, to climb the mountain.
