KATHMANDU, July 31: Following the expiration of the deadline set by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) for the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) to vacate their central office in Dhumbarahi, the metropolis authorities have taken steps to demolish the building.
Despite three days' notice and ‘miking’ by the metropolis on Friday, the RPP did not comply with the vacation order. The metropolis team is on the way with dozers to demolish the building. However, a roadblock has been orchestrated by RPP cadres. Cars were strategically placed to obstruct the KMC team's access to the office, preventing the demolition from proceeding as planned.

The KMC had cited safety concerns as the primary reason for demolishing the building. The structure, where the RPP office is situated, was constructed under high tension electric lines, posing a potential threat to its occupants and those nearby.
