RSP decides to make Indira Rana Magar a candidate for deputy speaker

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Rastriya Swatantra Party has nominated Indira Rana Magar as its candidate for the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Rastriya Swatantra Party has nominated Indira Rana Magar as its candidate for the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.


The RSP parliamentary party meeting held this morning took the decision. Magar from Jhapa is a proportional member of parliament. Earlier, Sobita Gautam was nominated for the post of deputy speaker.

As part of the power-sharing deal in the ruling alliance, an agreement has been reached to give the post of deputy speaker to the RSP. UML's Devraj Ghimire has been elected as the speaker.


According to the constitutional provisions, one woman is mandatory for the post of speaker or deputy speaker.
