RSP’s Rabi Lamichhane’s remarkable victory, receives 5,000 more votes than in previous election

CHITWAN, April 25: Rabi Lamichhane of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won the by-election to the House of Representatives member from Chitwan constituency-2.

CHITWAN, April 25: Rabi Lamichhane of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won the by-election to the House of Representatives member from Chitwan constituency-2.

Lamichhane won the by-election by receiving 54,176 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Jeet Narayan Shrestha of the Nepali Congress by 42,962 votes. Shrestha got only 11,214 votes.


CPN-UML candidate Ram Prasad Neupane, who is in third place, got only 10,936 votes. A total of 78,634 votes were cast in Chitwan while 78,466 votes were valid. Rabi got almost 5,000 more votes than in the previous November 20 election. He had got 49,300 votes at that time.
