Responding to a query from media persons at the party's manifesto unveiling program in Kathmandu on Friday, he said that the ruling parties had formed an alliance and decided to go to the polls in a way that people would not understand.

Mahato argued that his party did not attach importance to the issue of forming an alliance as the party will contest the elections on its own. He also mentioned that the local units of the party have been given the right to decide if a coalition is necessary with other parties.
