KAVRE, May 30: A three-day rural film festival is to be organized in Namobuddha of Kavrepalanchok. The festival is going to be held with the objective of encouraging films based on rural settings and environment, the organizers have said.
Celebrity Nepal is hosting the event with the support of the Film Development Board. A total of 26 films and documentaries based on the rural environment will be screened in the event to be held from June 8 to 10, said Raghunath Sapkota, president of Celebrity Nepal.
South Asian Film Festival to be held in Sauraha
The films and documentaries screened at the festival will be awarded in the best 10 categories.
A similar rural film festival had been held earlier in Laprak of Gorkha. The festival is also expected to help promote the cultural, historical and tourist areas of Namobuddha.
