SURKHET, Dec 27: With the onset of snowfall, border police posts and other outposts in the upper parts of Dolpa, Humla and Mugu have been merged with the District Police Office at the district headquarters. According to the Karnali Province Police Office, eight police posts in three districts have been merged into the district police office.
Two border police posts and five police posts in Dolpa have been shifted to the district headquarters due to heavy snowfall. Among the merged (relocated) outposts at the District Police Office in the Dolpa district headquarters are Border Police Post Namdo, Border Police Post Tinje, Police Post Vijer, Police Post Dhaun and Temporary Police Base at Rap.

Similarly, two border police posts in Humla have been shifted to the District Police Office. The merged outposts are Border Police Post, Hilsa and Border Police Office, Limi.
Likewise, a border police post in Mugu, has also been shifted to District Police Office, Gamgadhi. Even the locals come to the district headquarters to avoid snow and cold during the winter season. Most of the police outposts were merged into the district headquarters in the first week of October.
According to Chief of District Police Office, Humla DSP Heramba Sharma, the snowfall makes life of people difficult there due to which they shift to district headquarter during winter. Similarly, Chairperson of Simkot village Padam Bahadur Lama said, "People start moving even before the snowfall as the road will be covered with snow.”
