KATHMANDU, May 26: Samsung's flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, Samsung Innovation Campus, successfully completed its Coding and Programming course for the first batch of students at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.
This program aims to equip Nepali youth with in-demand tech skills, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Coding, and Programming, according to a press statement issued by Samsung.
During a ceremony attended by notable dignitaries such as Pramila Kumari, State Minister of Education, Government of Nepal, Sung June Park, Head of Samsung Southwest Asia, Nepal Office, and Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, students were awarded certificates of completion.

Expressing satisfaction about the milestone, Sung June Park, Head of Nepal Office, Samsung Southwest Asia, stated, "We are thrilled to have concluded the first batch of our Coding and Programming course with enthusiastic student participation and unwavering support from the faculty and university. Our partnership with the prestigious Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering aims to upskill students in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Big Data, and IoT. Our objective is to foster capable Nepalese youth who are well-prepared for the future, contributing to Nepal's growing economy, particularly in the fields of innovation and technology."
Samsung Innovation Campus was launched globally in December 2022 and it was launched at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, in Nepal. This program provides training to Nepali youths in future tech skills, empowering them to excel in the fields of AI, IoT, Big Data, Coding, and Programming. Eligibility for enrollment in these courses requires knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and programming.
Aside from technical training, the program also focuses on enhancing students' soft skills, employability, and problem-solving capabilities. Samsung aims to improve students' digital literacy, learning abilities, creativity, and overall potential to become innovative thinkers.
Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, expressed his delight in running this prestigious course in Nepal, stating, "This course is instrumental for the development and upskilling of our students. We have successfully completed the Coding & Programming course, which received high appreciation. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Samsung for running this course at Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering."
As part of the Samsung Innovation Campus program at the Institute of Engineering, students will also undertake practical projects of social significance where AI, Big Data, Coding, Programming, and IoT play vital roles.
