SC allows local level representatives sacked by Maoist Center to carry out their day to day works

KATHMANDU, June 29: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to allow local government representatives, who renounced membership of their mother party and subsequently faced dismissal from the party’s general membership, to carry out their day-to-day works.

KATHMANDU, June 29: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to allow local government representatives, who renounced membership of their mother party and subsequently faced dismissal from the party’s general membership, to carry out their day-to-day works.


A single bench of Justice Kumar Chudal issued the order in response to the writ petitions filed by Mayor of Maulapur Municipality in Rautahat district Rina Kumari Sah and Mayor of Katahariya Municipality Siya Ram Kushwaha on Tuesday.

The CPN (Maoist Center) had earlier decided to sack both Sah and Kushwaha from the party’s general membership after they decided to join the ruling CPN-UML following the apex court’s order to invalidate the unity between the UML and the Maoist Center.
